Who we are

Noodle ("we", "us") is a small team based in London, United Kingdom. For anything about privacy, email hello@noodlesleep.com.

What stays on your phone

Most of Noodle works entirely on your device. This information is stored locally and never sent to us:

• Your koala: its name, look, growth stage and outfits.
• Your nights: when Sleep Mode started and ended, wake-ups, sleep scores, streaks, Moon Drops and dream cards.
• Your settings: bedtime, wake-up time, wind-down habits and sleep sound.
• Your quiz answers and the "one thing on your mind" notes you write before bed.
• Motion data: Noodle reads your phone's motion sensor during Sleep Mode only to tell whether the phone is lying face down. The raw sensor readings are not stored or sent anywhere.

Your email (optional)

If you choose to give us your email during setup, we will only use it to send occasional updates about Noodle. You can skip this, and you can unsubscribe from any email at any time. We never sell or share your email.

The website waitlist

If you join the waitlist on noodlesleep.com, we store your email address, the date you signed up, the page that sent you to us (if your browser shares it) and any campaign tags in the link you used. We use this only to tell you when Noodle launches and, occasionally, about Noodle updates. The list is stored with our database provider, Supabase, on servers in the United States. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your address at any time by emailing hello@noodlesleep.com. The website doesn't use cookies or ad trackers.

Anonymous usage analytics

To understand what helps people sleep and what to improve, we collect anonymous usage events with PostHog, hosted in the European Union. Examples: "onboarding completed", "night completed, 7 h 20 min", "dream shared". These events are linked to a random identifier, not to your name or email, and never include your notes or quiz answers. They also include basic technical details such as app version, device model and operating system.

Crash reports

If the app crashes, a crash report is sent to Sentry so we can fix the problem. It contains technical information (what went wrong in the code, app version, device model and operating system) and no personal content.

Subscriptions and payments

Payments are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your card details. We use RevenueCat to check whether you have an active subscription; it receives an anonymous app user ID and your purchase receipts from Apple.

Notifications

Bedtime nudges and "Noodle woke up" messages are scheduled on your phone as local notifications. They don't pass through our servers. You can turn them off in the app or in your phone's settings.

Sleeping together (coming soon)

If you later choose to use features that connect you with a partner or friends, we will need a small account (Sign in with Apple or an email link) and will share only what those features need, such as whether your koala is asleep. We'll explain this clearly before you turn it on, and this policy will be updated first.

What we never do

• We don't sell your data.
• We don't use your data for advertising or show ads.
• We don't access Apple Health.
• We don't diagnose or treat any condition. Noodle is a wellness app, not a medical device.

Your choices and rights

You can delete everything stored on your phone at any time by deleting the app. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or UK GDPR), you also have the right to access, correct or delete data we hold about you, and to object to its use. Email hello@noodlesleep.com and we'll respond within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Legal basis and retention

We process anonymous analytics and crash reports based on our legitimate interest in keeping Noodle working and improving it. Analytics events are kept for up to 24 months and crash reports for up to 90 days. If you give us your email, we keep it until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.

Children

Noodle is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top, and for important changes we'll tell you in the app.
